Records, EP’s, LP’s, Double LP’s!!

This time I went decided to search through the multitude of record and record like things Bonanza has to offer. I enjoyed & still on occasion enjoy playing a classic record. There is nothing like a needle on wax, when you listen to sounds from the past!

The first thing I stumbled upon was a Pyle ClassicalTurntable with AM/FM Radio CD/Cassette & USB Recording. This is a really cool record player that plays almost anything.  It even has a USB encoder that can easily record old vinyl or other Aux in audio onto Flash Drive through a USB Socket and transfers them into MP3 Formats. This turntable is a great alternative for anyone looking to transfer their music from older formats onto their computer.

Next I found an interesting LP from Kinky Friedman entitled ‘LASSO FROM EL PASSO’ (1976). Kinky is definitely a character, and this LP lets us in on a fraction of his weirdness.  Eric Clapton and Ringo Star (as the voice of Jesus) also make guest appearances on this album.

The next item I chose is sold at our store, A Record Pendant Fun 50s Style Jewelry. It’s the perfect accessory for any 50’s, 60’s or 70’s party. Or you could just wear it around the house while you listen to the funky grooves of the past. Ahh…Nostalgia.

The second LP and last item I chose from Bonanza was a classic Funkadelic record: ‘Uncle Jam Wants You’.  Even though it only has 6 tracks, ‘Freak of the Week’ is a real classic, which has been recently sampled numerous times, and profoundly influenced West Coast Hip-Hop. This record also takes forthright political stances on situations in America at the time, and problem’s we still face today. Uncle Jam Wants You is a funky addition to anyone’s collection.
Bonanza is a rather decent resource for classic records, and retro memorabilia.

Now, it's time to go through my own record collection and listen to the  treasures there. I'll be back on Bonanza soon to search again.

So Firstly, What is a Hand Picked List on Bonanza.com?

According to Bonanza “A hand picked list (henceforth, "HPL") is a group of at least 15 items (or at least 20 items, if the list is to be considered for the home page) that a user can create to showcase a theme of their choosing. For example, you might create an HPL called "Owl Love You," and add 20 Bonanza items involving owls to your list.”

If you’re interest how to make one yourself, “Log into Bonanza, and visit the "My Bonanza" page. On the left side of the page, under "Buying Activity" there is a link to "Hand Picked" items of interest. Click there, and then click "Create a new list." Pick a title and theme for your list and save it.”

So let’s see what cool HPL’s Bonanza has to offer!
This first handpicked list I found is called “Artist In The Making”

Being an artist myself, I found this pick list to be quite a good start any young aspiring artist. It has everything you need from the sketch pads and watercolor supplies to the easel, art pallet, and beret. It’s a great example of the potential of a Hand Picked List on Bonanza.

This HPL has a more vintage feel, “Hand Picked List: Under the RETRO Dome”
I selected this list because of the variety of cool vintage pottery and odd retro things it included. I enjoy the Retro 60s Hot Pink Leather Flower Daisy Brooch, the Candy Dress Rockabilly Pin up Dress, and the Pair of Vintage Retro Depression Glass Divided Relish Dishes.

The Third Handpicked List is one I created about Chic Sheer Scarves. I really enjoyed the 80s Oscar de la Renta Signed Silk Scarf, the  Liz Claiborne 80s Silk Scarf Large Square Pink Red, and the Gee Aqua Rayon + Silk Sheer Scarf from Japan.
Hand Pick Lists are a fantastic tool when you are browsing through Bonanza. Someone has done the work by putting the best together for you!

Browsing The Bizarre on Bonanza

Bonanza's slogan is "Everything but the Ordinary", So I thought it was time to put that motto to the test & start browsing the bizarre at Bonanza.

In this technological age of smart cellphones & tablet PC’s The Star Trek Communicator may seem a bit obsolete...but fear not.

Boldly scanning Bonanza where no man has scanned before, I came across this way cool Star Trek Communicator.

I decided to pick this because it’s collectable, fun, quirky, & fabulously retro.

Plus I already own a genuine Star Trek Type 1 Hand Phaser (momentarily set to stun...).

Star Trek is one of my all-time favorite shows & I think any fan would agree that a Star Trek Communicator would be a welcome addition to any collection.

The next Item I picked from Bonanza was a chocolate shaped USB flash drive.

When you put the cover on it may easily fool the unsuspecting passerby into thinking it’s a delicious treat.

But once you remove the cover, its true nature is revealed:  16 GB storage capabilities! Cool right?

The current Mayan calendar, also known as the 13th Bak’tun ends on December 21 2012.

The current age will supposedly end, & launch a new age of Earth regeneration, and galactic synchronization with a new harmonic field beyond duality.

Sounds enlightening...

Well you can calmly welcome whatever happens on that date with some incense in a clay Mayan incense holder figurine from Guatemala.

So if you’re in the mood for some cool, retro, quirky things check out these and many more shops on Bonanza.com and tell Them Hey Viv Sent You!

This Vintage Aqua Wool 1970's Cuddle Coat New York should be a nice warm addition to any wardrobe. When you are in this coat you are bound to be both cozy and stylish.

How about these Green/Blue Plaid Mittens Hugger Snow Bird ? It's said that mittens are warmer than gloves, made of the same material because your fingers maintain their warmth better when they are in contact with each other. Here is a fun fact: Reduced surface area reduces heat loss.

Why not try this Black Blue Bree Crocheted Neck Scarf - Unique - Hand Made?
Ancient Rome is one of the first origins of the scarf, where it was not used to keep warm, but to keep clean.
If your in a cold climate this winter , a thick knitted scarf made of wool, can be tied around the neck to keep nice and warm.
